I’m back! I’ve been gone a long time. I had a knee revision in August and contracted colitis. So a two-night hospital stay turned into a nine-night stay. It took another two weeks at home to clear up. Then I started eight weeks of physical therapy. I choose aquatic therapy which was really cool. The pool was 96 degrees and had an underwater treadmill. After the eight weeks , our contractor began the renovation of our kitchen. He took out a wall and extended the kitchen by closing in the screened porch. It was quite an adventure. Luckily we had a three-burner electric “stove” and a microwave. Those along with our gas grill, we able to make meals. Dishes were washed in the half bath. We bought professional GE Monogram appliances. The range has six gas burners which really come in handy when I’m cooking for our weekly Sunday night family dinner. The fewest number of people we ever have is nine, but there can be as many as thirteen to fifteen. It always makes for a wonderful evening. Now that the kitchen’s all done we’ll begin extending the other side of the screened porch. In the meantime, I’m working on the next book in the Sarah Tazewell series: These Hands. It’s about a female serial killer who cuts off the hands of the men she sleeps with.
